What Vaccines Can You Get at a Toronto Pharmacy in 2026?
Your pharmacy is now one of the easiest places to stay up to date on vaccines — no doctor's visit needed. As of July 1, 2026, Ontario pharmacists can administer several newly publicly funded vaccines on top of the flu and COVID-19 shots you already know. Here's the full picture.
Free with a valid Ontario health card
These vaccines are publicly funded for eligible Ontarians — meaning no out-of-pocket cost when you qualify:
- Influenza (flu shot) — everyone 6 months and older, every fall.
- COVID-19 — updated doses as recommended by Ontario Public Health.
- Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough) — new for pharmacists July 2026. One dose in adulthood, in every pregnancy, and as a tetanus booster every 10 years.
- Shingles (Shingrix) — new July 2026. Publicly funded as a two-dose series for adults aged 65–70.
- Pneumococcal — new July 2026. Adults 65+ and younger adults with certain health conditions.
- RSV — new July 2026. Older adults at highest risk (and long-term care residents).
Not sure if you're eligible or due for a dose? Our pharmacist can check for you in a couple of minutes.
Travel & private vaccines
Planning a trip? We also offer travel and private vaccines (often covered by extended health plans):
- Hepatitis A & B (Twinrix) — for travel to many parts of Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.
- Typhoid — for South Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America.
- Meningococcal (ACYW) — for travellers, students, and Hajj.
- HPV (Gardasil 9) — adult catch-up up to age 45.
Do I need an appointment?
Walk-ins are welcome, but for flu season and busy periods we recommend booking ahead so there's no wait. Booking online takes about a minute.
